EPAC Board Minutes - July 5, 2023

1. Call to Order

The meeting was called to order by Jesse Billiot at 6:22pm at the Houma main library branch

2. Roll Call

Roll Call was called by Jesse Billiot

Board members present were:

3. Approve minutes of the June 5, 2023 meeting of the board

postponed

4. Review of the board members obligations and required disclosures

  • Ethics training to be done by the end of the year 2023. Jade, Will, Dawn have completed the training

  • Tier 2.1 disclosure due May 15, 2023 most people have done this.

5. Discussion of budget

  • Caitilin Orgeron has opened the bank account for the non profit sister organization

  • Will has sent the approved w-9

  • The $2 million check was received via P.O Box Michelle Matherne checked the P.O Box

6. Discussion Of Contracts and services

We will continue to look for marketing, logos, branding. Angel Ledet will call and check on progress of the permit

7. Hiring

  • The board has discussed the official hiring of the school’s director Christine Verdin

  • We are still looking for a financial manager

  • The jobs will be posted and shared

  • The board reviewed and agreed on job titles. A vote will be taken at the next meeting

  • Christine Verdin will meet and pick up the teacher in Baton Rouge on June 20th

8. Discussion of renovations to provisional and final school building

  • Christine Verdin gave the K.C Hall update.

  • The building will not be read before Labor Day.

  • We need another electoral quote.

  • The K.C hall needs a new walk way all around

  • We still do not have aces to the PAC school building

9. Student enrollment

We have been sharing the student interest form widely as well as contacting potential students parent with interest in the school. We are using media platforms, flyers. We have planned to have the parent meeting mid July.

10. School year Calender

Will discuss at next meeting of the board.

11. Adjourn

On the motion of Jade Bergeron seconded by Dawn Lafont. The next meeting will be held Wednesday July 17, 2023 At 6pm At the Main Houma Library.
